Civil War Event Loan Process
Old Cowtown Museum celebrated our Civil War event April 18 and 19. Multiple groups traveled to Cowtown to participate as our Civil War reenactors, many from out of state. Both Union and Confederate reenactors performed many types of demonstrations; these included marching drills, canon fire, and even a large battle sequence.
Regarding the curatorial department, we accepted a loan special for this event. The Museum of World Treasurers graciously loaned us their Gatling Gun. I worked with their collection manager to get the proper paperwork signed, showed proof of our insurance, and set up times for pick up and drop off. With the help of three co-workers from Cowtown, we transported the gun to and from our museum.
The Gatling Gun was a big hit at our event. Special thanks to the Museum of World Treasurers for their cooperation.
